About ListDC

• Who: A privately owned public service maintained by Teeknet, Inc.
• What: A public bulletin board for regular folks to find a job, good restaurant, roommate, house, car etc.
• When: 24/7
• Where: Washington DC and the surrounding metros
• Why: Because it needs to exist

ListDC is a service that makes your public information more public. Part of that service includes a good browsing and search interface, spam control, a good database, and ListDC admins working hard to make it all happen smoothly. The other part is you and the public at large. Thanks for being a part of this.

The goal, or 'mission statement' if you prefer corpspeak, is to connect people. When and where can I find a garage sale, fishing tournament, kickball game, happy hour, sale, or used car? Those are the sort of questions ListDC is designed to answer!

Here's a list of things that help make ListDC work. Most of these folks know nothing about our little website but their efforts, software, and information are appreciated. ListDC would not be possible without many of the projects below. In no particular order:

• Open Source Software
• Electricity
• Semiconductors

The list is much, much longer when you consider that everything listed has it's own list of things that make it go, and each of them has it's own list, etc. And then there's the hardware like computers and memory, the engineers who designed it, the schools they attended. I have to stop somewhere but the point is there are a lot of people who helped ListDC that do not know it and vise versa. Thanks to all of you.

Just one more thing. ListDC was designed for the best browser. You should get firefox and start using it if you don't already.
